Antje Campbell was born in Stuttgart, Germany into a family with a rich artistic history. Her great grandfather was employed by the local Duke of Saxony, Germany, for his artistic talents which has trickled down through generations.

Her family immigrated to California in the 1960’s, where Antje continued to be exposed to beauty, her father is a master craftsman in woodworking and her mother elevated daily life with an appreciation for asthetics.

Although her formal education is in fashion design, Antje studied over a 15 year period with Betty Davenport Ford, who was part of the contemporary clay movement in Los Angeles. Working in the design industry combined with her deep passion for clay has been her unique journey of building her artistic skill. A continuous theme of human connections, their complexities and ultimate beauty, runs through her ever-evolving body of work.

She has shown her work in Europe, the U.S. and is currently a co-director of Mission Fine Art Gallery in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
